Description: Brill is proud to announce the publication as of 1999 of the journal Studies in Central and East Asian Religions (SCEAR). Since its foundation in the eighties in Denmark, SCEAR has acquired a firm reputation in the field.

This explicitly multi-cultural journal publishes scholarly contributions that cast light on religious phenomena in the area encompassing Tibet and Central Asia, Mongolia, China, Korea and Japan. It is intended to cover all aspects of religious life in the specified area. Its multi-disciplinary nature is clearly reflected in its accommodating a wide variety of standpoints -philosophical, linguistic, historical, anthropological and sociological.
